CHINESE ENCROACHMENT IN INDIAN TERRITORY - GILGIT

The Chinese encroachment into indian territory is taken up as a big issue now whereas this is happening for a long time from the past. The indian authorities were dormant and now have woken up after the visa mishap where some indian military personnel were not given visa as they were posted in sensitive ares in POK. The same was retaliated by India by not giving visas to Chinese armed forces personnel visiting India on familiar military exchange.
Now that has taken a new turn and it is considered that china is increasing its troop presence in Gilgit. Now india has noted this and is opposing about the troop increase and presence in Gilgit. The dormant India now wide awake is trying to avoid any presence of China in the POK as it is very hazardous to the very peace process going on in J&K.
China is and has been increasingly present in the border regions of Indian territory saying it has got every right to be there. It claims that there is no visa required for residents of Arunachal Pradesh as the state is not considered as a foreign country and it is considered as a part of China. Persons visiting from J&K have been handed paper visas and indian visas are not considered as their visas.
The Indian government has been very sleepy on this issue for quite a long time. The armed forces know the penetration and movement of chinese troops in many locations but avoid to give it publicity as this will tender some major reaction worldwide and can be sometimes detrimental to the economical progress. But now it has to be given high impetus as the imminent danger is unimaginable.
The government was promising that infrastructure in the border areas will be developed and maintained but all as gone with just promises. While the chinese have scaled the mount everest with their road laying in border areas and have brought a railway line to Tibet which is the highest railway route in the world. While India has been just like a spectator and watching what China has been doing and not doing even a single development job in the border areas.
To save ourself from any untoward events in the future India has to wakeup and be vigilant in the border areas and beef up security and infrastructure in the border.
China was way behind us ten years ago but now they are way in front of us and their army count is many times that of India and any direct initiation of contact with them will bring disaster to our country. So defence is the best offence as the saying goes.
